Welcome

Welcome on my private website. It's still in the start-up phase, so some pages are empty or very plain. The content is available in English and German. Some pages exist however just in one language yet. The shown language is selected automatically by the web browser language setting. If you like to see this website in German you must change your language setting to German.

You should use a modern web browser to view this websites. The browser should be able to handle XHTML, CSS, Javascript and the displaying of transparent PNG-pictures. Nevertheless this website is also viewable with older browsers. I test my pages with the browsers Konqueror, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and MS Internet Explorer. For the latter some tricks are used to overcome its deficiencies because of its non-compliance with common web standards. I recommend to always use an other browser when possible, e.g. Firefox.

I build this website by hand with the Unix-texteditor VIM and follow the web standards XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.0. You can validate this for every single page by clicking on the corresponding icon under the left menue. Javascript is used to make the website a little nicer but isn't essential.
